2 Years and Cookin'

It's August and that means it's time to celebrate 2 years of the Appetizer on Abilene Public Radio, KACU. We're going to celebrate by spending the entire month remembering the music and the themes of the show from the past two years. Rest assured, we won't repeat any old shows. It's all new programs, we're just replaying some of our favorite music. We'll reexamine the Diet and Easy Relaxed episodes featuring the music of Etta James, Natalie Merchant, Matchbox 20, Sarah Brightman, and more. Also, we'll revisit last year's 3 week series "Live in the Summertime" with concert recordings from John Mayer, Strunz & Farah, Santana, and the Counting Crows. We'll travel back to the first few episodes of the show from 2003 and hear music from Carla Werner, Oliver Mtukudzi, Gigi, Mazy Star and more. And we'll start things off this weekend with a look at our Essential Elements series from last year, analyzing the pieces of modern music, one instrument at a time. This week, hear the sounds of Mana, Eva Cassidy, Frank Sinatra, Dido and much more. It's sure to be a great month. Celebrate with us, every Saturday night at 8, on 89.7 KACU or online at www.kacu.org. And listen this week to possibly win free Appetizer merchandise. Contact D. Grant and let him know some of your favorite episodes and songs from shows-past. His email address it dgrantsmith@gmail.com.
